The Freelancer is helmed by Neeraj Pandey, known for hits like Special OPS, A Wednesday, Special 26, Baby, and M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story. The Bhav Dhulia’s directorial stars Anupam Kher and Mohit Raina.
Navneet states, “When I found out that Neeraj Pandey sir was behind the series, I was ecstatic and knew I had to be a part of it. And when I learned about my character, it felt like it was tailor-made for me. Portraying Mohsin allows me to showcase both positive and negative shades, and I couldn't have asked for a better opportunity at this stage in my career. The plot, story, and characters are simply phenomenal, and I'm determined to make a big impact.”
This is Navneet’s second stint on OTT. He says, to bag the second digital series, he had to “work really hard”. “I gave hundreds of auditions initially. I almost give 250 auditions before bagging the show. But when I learned about this particular series and its details, I felt a strong inner voice urging me to go all out for it. In every audition, I gave my best, pouring my heart into each performance. The selection process was not very difficult; the director knew what he wanted and made the decisions based on actors' looks and acting abilities. When I got the call confirming my selection, I was shooting for a song rehearsal and felt overwhelmed with joy. It was a life-changing moment for me, and I truly believe that when you work hard and have strong desires, things fall into place. I really wanted this opportunity, and my positive mindset played a significant role in achieving it.”
While Navneet gives multiple auditions he is also quite choosy. “I'm choosy about my work. While I try to give all auditions, I have a clear idea of what I want to do and what I don't want to do. I may not fully know what I want, but I'm certain about what I don't want,” he ends.
