Being new to freelance writing comes with its share of stressors.
What niche do I pick? How does everyone pronounce the word “niche”? Okay, that last one isn’t really a stressor but a question nonetheless. Should I make a website? How do I find clients?
It really is an overwhelming time.
Then to make matters worse, I would keep reading articles with titles like “AI is Sending Freelance Writers to the Unemployment Line” and “I Lost my Job to a Robot”.
For a minute, I started to worry if I should rethink my career pivot. But after so much hard work and finally finding my passion for writing, I wasn’t going to give up that easily.
So instead of panicking and listening to the fearmongers, I started asking more questions. I decided that like with any new tech, I should learn what it’s all about and how it can benefit me.
Let’s be real, AI isn’t going anywhere. So instead of fearing it, we should embrace it and use it to our advantage.
How to Get Started Using ChatGPT
It doesn’t matter if you are new or experienced in freelance writing. It’s easy to get started using AI to help with your business.
If you are new to ChatGPT, my best advice is to first introduce yourself to it.
Tell it:
1. Who you are.
2. What you do.
3. Ask it what types of things it can do for you.
4. Then ask it how you should prompt it to get the best help with whatever you need.
My first experience with ChatGPT was disappointing because I treated it like a Google search engine. I typed a couple of commands in and wasn’t getting the brilliant response that I was looking for.
Thankfully, a member of my network suggested I introduce myself to it and treat it like I am speaking with a peer. Since then, the responses have been on point and I have found so much value in it.
